With improvements in power and speed, the Giulia quickly won the hearts of car enthusiasts. The car reached an impressive top speed of 166 km/h.
The Giulia classic car quickly expanded with models aimed at both daily use and the race track. Of the Giulia 1300 with a smaller engine but still a top speed of 155 km/h. The Alfa Romeo GTV was made between 1994 and 2004. GTV stands for 'Gran Turismo Veloce', which means 'fast grand touring'. It came after the Alfetta GTV coupe and marked Alfa's comeback as a sporting brand under Fiat's wings. The design by Enrico Fumia and the later details by Walter de Silva made for a car that stood out. Launched in 1995 at the Geneva Motor Show, the GTV quickly became a favourite.
In 1997 the GTV received a new engine and a fresh look, with a new wheel design that made the striking red brake calipers stand out. The interior became more luxurious with MOMO leather seats in various colors to match the carpet. The steering wheel was also renewed. In 1998 the GTV received more updates. A new center console, instrument panel and a chrome frame around the grille. The introduction of new engines in 2000 ensured that the GTV met emissions standards, and in 2003 the exterior was updated with a new grille and license plate holder. The Alfa Romeo GTV interior received minor adjustments.
At Metropole we appreciate the unique history and sportiness of the GTV. Whether you fall for the speed, the style, or the pure driving pleasure, a GTV classic car is a wonderful addition to any collection.
