Ferrari F12 Tour de France

The F12tdf pays tribute to the Tour the France, the legendary endurance road race that Ferrari dominated in the XNUMXs and XNUMXs. It was a race that rewarded cars that combined maximum performance with the drivability and ease of use that allowed competitors to race hundreds of kilometers a day on fast, winding roads and circuits.

Ferrari bases the F12tdf on the F12berlinetta. Just like in the F12berlinetta, Ferrari uses a naturally aspirated 6,3 liter (6262 cc) V12 engine, only in this case the engine power has been increased to 780 hp, an increase of 40 hp. The pulling force increases to 705 Nm (plus 15 Nm). According to Ferrari, eighty percent of the pulling power is available from 2500 rpm, while the redline is only reached at 8900 rpm. The full 780 hp are available at 8500 rpm.

Ferrari has put the F12tdf on a heavy diet, making the Italian supercar 110 kilograms lighter than a regular F12berlinetta. According to Ferrari, the weight is approximately 1520 kilograms. An F12berlinetta weighs 1630 kilograms. This weight reduction, the additional power and a faster-shifting F1 transmission with 6 percent shorter transmission ratios make the F12tdf fast. Extremely fast. The sprint to 100 km/h is completed in 2,9 seconds and the sprint from 0 to 200 km/h takes just 7,9 seconds. The top speed is more than 340 km/h.

The Ferrari also has the necessary stopping power, because thanks to the installation of carbon ceramic brake discs and large brake calipers from the LaFerrari hypercar behind the 20-inch alloy wheels, the Italian comes to a standstill in 30,5 meters from a speed of 100 km/h. Braking from 200 to 0 km/h takes 121 meters.

The bodywork of the Ferrari F12tdf not only functions as a neck turner, but is also multifunctional, as is typical of all modern Ferraris. The modified body gives the F12tdf thirty percent more downforce than a 'normal' F12berlinetta. At a speed of 200 km/h, the downforce is 230 kilograms, an impressive 107 kilograms more than normal. Ferrari gives the F12tdf steering rear wheels (Virtual Short Wheelbase). According to the technicians, stability is greater at higher speeds and the reaction time to steering movements is shorter.

Ferrari produces 799 copies of the F12tdf.
