Golf GTI (1997-2003)

A number of GTI versions of this Golf have also been released with petrol and diesel engines. During introduction, the GTI was supplied with the 1.8 20V turbo engine with 150 hp, later this was increased to 180 hp. A GTI 25 Jahre Edition version was also available in a limited edition with 210 hp. Furthermore, the GTI was available as a 5-cylinder with the 2,3 liter VR5 engine with 170 hp. Dieseling was possible with a 1.9 TDI diesel engine, first with 115 hp and later with 150 hp.
