The Fiat 500, also called “Cinquecento”, is one of the most famous cars ever. This small car was first released in 1957, made by the Italian company Fiat for cheap travel after the war. Thanks to its small size and nice appearance, it quickly became popular, not only in the narrow streets of Italian cities but also far beyond.
The original Fiat 500 was known for its smart design and practical interior. This small car had a rear engine that took up little space and offered a surprising amount of interior space despite its compact size. The design was simple and functional, with a round shape and a friendly-looking front. These features quickly made the Fiat 500 popular. Not only was it economical, but it was also perfect for city driving thanks to its handy size.

Over the years, the Fiat 500 has undergone several iterations and revisions, but its essence and appeal have remained unchanged. In 2007, Fiat breathed new life into the brand with the launch of the new Fiat 500, which combined modern technology and historic charm. These modern versions retain the iconic design, but are equipped with the latest technological innovations, safety features and environmentally friendly engines.
The Fiat 500 is not just a car; it is a cultural phenomenon spanning more than six decades. Not only has the model changed the way people think about small cars, but it has also had a lasting impact on pop culture, appearing in countless films, TV shows and even inspiring the fashion industry.
The Fiat 500 remains a timeless favorite for car enthusiasts and everyday users, known for its durability, style and character. It remains a living testament to Italian craftsmanship and innovative design, loved by generations of drivers around the world.

The Fiat 500 Jolly was often affectionately called 'the beach car'. It is a remarkable variant of the classic Fiat 500 that was specially designed for sunny holiday destinations. This unique model was made in the late 50s by Carrozzeria Ghia at the request of Fiat's big boss: Gianni Agnelli. He wanted to offer a cheerful and luxurious option for transportation in resorts and on the coast. Take a look at this car, it turned out pretty well!
Gianni Agnelli wanted to go all out with the design and made the car have everything a beach car should have. For example, look at the wicker chairs in the car, instead of normal chairs. They don't fit great, but they are extremely stylish and useful for quick trips along the beach. The Jolly is very easy to recognize due to its doorless design. Because yes, you should be able to get in and out of a beach car easily, right? And then the roof. Of course, you only drive this car in places with full sun. That's why the Fiat 500 Jolly has a canvas sunroof. This was of course ideal for those hot summer days to keep yourself in the shade.

Despite its compact size and simple appearance, the Fiat 500 Jolly had a hefty price tag. This made the car an exclusive possession for the rich and famous of that time. People such as Aristotle Onassis and even President Lyndon B. Johnson were known for their love for this charming model. Nowadays you can even see Formula 1 driver Lando Norris in a Fiat Jolly.
At Metropole we sell 2 models of Fiat Jolly. The Fiat Nuova 500 Bianchina Giardiniera en Fiat 500G Jolly both have a price of €49.500. If you are interested in buying a Fiat Jolly. Contact us for the possibilities.
