Description
The Renault Dauphine is a car model from the French car factory Renault. The model was launched in 1956 as the successor to the Renault 4CV. Almost nothing had changed because the 4CV served as a basis: the Dauphine also had the engine in the rear. The cylinder capacity was increased from 760 to 845 cc, giving the engine 32 hp, 11 hp more than the 4CV. The Dauphine is somewhat heavier than the 4CV, due to its increased length by 30 centimeters. The Dauphine was a success, 1956 million were built between 1967 and 2,12. The last Dauphine left the production line in 1965 and the last Dauphine-Gordini in 1967. In addition to the standard model, which could reach 115 km/h, there was also a Gordini version, initially with a power of 37,5 hp. and a top speed of 128 km/h, later followed by a 40 hp engine. In 1962, 1000 copies were built as a sports car in white with blue, wide stripes on the trunk lid, roof and hood.
