Description
In 1967 the second generation Typ 2 was introduced, the Panorama bus. This model has large side windows and a curved windshield without a center bar. In addition to external changes, the new copy also had some engine improvements. With 1.6 L and 48 DIN hp (35 kW), the engine's power increased.
Various versions of the T2 were also made. The models from before 1971 are called T2a. A transitional model was produced in 1972 and was given the model name T2a/b. A front of the A and back of the B model are the most important features. Type 2s from between 1972 and the early 80s are called T2b. The term T2c is intended for the buses with raised roofs that were built especially for American market traders in the early 90s.
The T2 was built first in Germany, then in Mexico and then in Brazil. From model year 2006 onwards, a liquid-cooled engine was installed (a 1,4 liter with 78 hp), bringing the era of the air-cooled boxer engine to an end. The last T20 was built on December 2013, 2; the type no longer met Brazilian safety requirements. The number of vehicles produced was around 80.000.
