Description
This concerns a DAF 95 demonstration tractor that DAF itself used for promotion and events, including the BedrijfsautoRAI.
The engines of the demo cars were painted red at the factory to make them stand out more.
The DAF 95 was introduced in 1987 as the successor to the DAF 2800/3300 series. The 95 series was a significant step for DAF and was internationally acclaimed. The DAF 95 was named International Truck of the Year shortly after its introduction in 1987.
It was DAF's first large truck designed to the European cab standards of the 80s, with more comfort, safety and aerodynamics.
In 1997, production of the original DAF 95 came to an end and it was replaced by the DAF XF95, with a more modern cab and improved technology.
The XF95 is an evolution of the 95, with an emphasis on greater cab comfort, aerodynamics, more modern engines, and improved long-distance performance. While the 95 was primarily a solid and powerful truck, the XF95 focused more on driver experience and efficiency.
