Description
The DAF 2200 DKD marked an important step in DAF's development as a manufacturer of medium-duty trucks. With its robust construction and versatile applications, the model became a familiar sight on European roads. The success of the 2200 DKD laid the foundation for later models in the F220 series, which further strengthened DAF's position in the truck market.
The DAF 2200 DKD was introduced in 1970 as part of the F218 series, later known as the F220 series.
The truck was equipped with the DAF DD575 engine, a 5,8-liter six-cylinder diesel engine that was later replaced by the 8,25-liter engines in the F220 series. Depending on the version, power ranged from 163 to 210 hp.
The truck was available in various configurations such as box trucks and tractors, and could be equipped with various bodies such as open bodies, closed bodies or as a fire truck.
Today, the DAF 2200 DKD is still cherished by collectors and is regularly displayed at classic truck shows and events. It is a testament to Dutch craftsmanship and transport history from the 1970s.
