Description
FTF (Floor Truck Fabriek) was a Dutch manufacturer of heavy trucks and tractor-trailer combinations, active from approximately 1966 to 1994. They built American-style trucks for heavy-duty transport applications, mainly with components from American brands such as Detroit Diesel engines, Fuller or Allison transmissions, and axles from Kirkstall and Steyr, among others.
FTF built several hundred trucks in total in its history (approximately 650–1000 over the entire production period) and was known for its adaptability to customer requirements and heavy-duty applications such as terminal tractors and convoy tractors.
Around 1994–1995, FTF ceased truck production due to increasing competition and costs, after which the company moved on to building trailers.
The type designation FS‑8 from FTF usually refers to an 8‑cylinder (V8) version within the FS series of trucks.
