Hogra H7 S100

De Hogra H7 S100 is a historic Dutch truck model that was produced by Hogra in Ravenstein between 1955 and 1961. This model is special because of its limited production and the choice of a Steyr diesel engine.

🛠️ Technical specifications

  • Type designation: H7 S100
  • Motor: Steyr 4-cylinder diesel engine
  • Power: 100 hp
  • Cylinder capacity: 5322 cc
  • Gross load capacity: 7 ton
  • Configuration: 2-axle 4Ă—2 chassis (some 4Ă—4 versions)
  • Production period: 1957–1961
  • Number of copies produced: estimated at 400–500

The H7 S100 was a successor to the H7-P6, which was equipped with an 6 hp Perkins P83 engine. The choice of the Steyr engine offered more power and was an important step in the development of the Hogra brand. The chassis, suspension packages and sheet metal were manufactured in the Netherlands, while the engines were purchased from Perkins and later Steyr.

🏭 Production and history

Hogra was an assembly plant in Ravenstein that produced trucks with a torpedo front design. In the early years, the company produced approximately 15 trucks per month, with plans to increase this to 60 per month. In 1956 an order for 150 chassis was secured for South America, underlining Hogra's international ambitions.

However, with the advent of more modern front-wheel drive models with higher load capacities and better performance, Hogra ran into financial difficulties in the years 1958–1961. In 1961, truck production was discontinued and the company then focused on other activities, such as the import of Trabant.
