Magirus Deutz 120 R 80

Magirus-Deutz is a German manufacturer of primarily trucks and fire engines. Founded in 1864, the company was known for its innovation in the industry.

Magirus-Deutz started as two separate companies – Magirus, a manufacturer of fire engines, and Deutz, an engine manufacturer.

In 1936 they merged to form Magirus-Deutz AG.

Trucks: Magirus-Deutz produced a wide range of trucks for various applications, such as transport, distribution, and construction. A significant part of Magirus-Deutz's business was the production of fire engines.

In the 50s, Magirus-Deutz began building buses, including the Saturn, Mercur, and later the R-series. They were available as city buses, intercity buses, and luxury touring cars with high windows. In the 50s and 60s, Magirus-Deutz buses were also used by several regional transport companies and coach companies. However, they were less popular than, for example, DAF, Volvo, and Mercedes, making them relatively rare here.

In 1975, Magirus-Deutz was acquired by Iveco, another well-known truck brand. Production of vehicles under the Magirus-Deutz name was later discontinued.
