Description
The MAN 10.212 belongs to MAN's older F-series (primarily the "hauber" or bonneted trucks) before later rounds of updates. The cab designs were later modified, partly due to collaborations with French companies (such as Saviem).
In some variants, the cab had slight convex bulges at the front corners of the fenders (where the fenders merged into the cab/front). This earned the model the nickname "Pausbacke" (Papa's back).

The nickname Pausbacke led to recognition from miles away; if you saw a 10.212 with those rounded corners on the cab, you knew immediately what type it was.
Because the 10.212 had a relatively powerful engine for its time and was relatively reliable, it was popular with drivers who had to carry heavier loads. It was considered a workhorse with a solid build.
It had a 10 liter 6-cylinder diesel engine with about 212 hp (“10-212” in the type designation often relates to the engine).
