Description
Mercedes-Benz has been developing trucks since the early 20th century.
In the 70s and 80s, the focus was on robust trucks for the construction and transport sectors, capable of carrying heavy loads and offering reliability in rough terrain. The Mercedes 3335 was aimed at the heavy-duty construction and transport market, where reliability and durability were crucial.
The first number “33” represents the maximum permitted weight of 33 tonnes.
The second series “35” refers to the engine power, in this case 350 hp.
This engine is designed for durable performance and heavy-duty use, such as pulling heavy tippers, concrete mixers, or crane trucks. It's a true powerhouse that has easily covered thousands of kilometers, even with heavy loads and in rough terrain.
The chassis was modular, meaning that various superstructures, such as tipper bodies or a loading crane, could easily be added. Previously, this had always been custom-made to meet specific customer requirements, making production very time-consuming.
