Scania Vabis L55

De Scania-Vabis L55 is a truck from the late 1950s and early 1960s, produced by the Swedish company Scania-Vabis. This model marked an important step in the development of heavy commercial vehicles and is today appreciated by classic car enthusiasts.

In 1958, Scania-Vabis introduced the L75, the first vehicle in a new generation of trucks with a renewed design and improved performance. In the summer of 1959 the smaller L55 was presented, equipped with a 7-liter engine. This truck was available in several configurations, including the LS55 with a jockey wheel axle for added stability.

In 1962 the L56 was introduced, followed by the L66 in 1963. The L66 combined the strong chassis of the L76 series with the smaller engine of the L56 series and was primarily intended for export.
