Description
This Steyr 19S24 K38 is a medium-duty truck produced in Austria. They were available with four-wheel drive and often used as tipper trucks, platform chassis, or crane trucks. Steyr trucks were particularly popular in Central Europe (e.g., Austria, Germany, Switzerland).
With a total permissible weight of 18 tonnes and a tare weight of 10.5 tonnes, this vehicle could therefore load 7.5 tonnes (within the law) and was therefore interesting for local earthmoving companies (which often loaded a little more weight).
Although no production figures from Steyr are known, we can say that they are rare, with a production time of 5 years (1889 – 1994).
This 1989 car is one of the first series produced, and with its 9.7 liter 6 cylinder Diesel engine it is strong enough to transport its loads.
The power is between 240 and 260 hp.
The structure was often a 3-way tipper with a crane so that it was versatile in use.
In 1998, Steyr (Truck division) was taken over by MAN Trucks.
