The 80s. Europe is recovering from the oil crises of 1973 and 1979. Little by little, confidence in the economy returns and financial worries diminish. Dynasty premieres on TV in 1981, showcasing the good life. In true American style and full of intrigue, to be sure. But naturally, we are primarily intrigued by the beautiful image of the luxury houses and cars. Meanwhile, the European automotive industry is also preparing for a new decade. Stricter regulations require manufacturers to scrutinize safety even more closely, and emissions are a major focus. Engines must become cleaner and more fuel-efficient. These regulations also trickle down to the ranks of Ferrari, where smaller turbo engines are being developed that are not only cleaner but, in some countries, also more fiscally attractive.

And it is precisely during this period that the Ferrari 328 is being developed. It is a further development of the 308, which came onto the market in the 70s and gained fame primarily thanks to Tom Selleck. The 308 is classic and sleekly lined; the 328, on the other hand, has softer shapes and looks considerably more modern. The body-colored bumpers, the more modern interior, and the larger engine prepare Ferrari for the battle against the Porsche 911 and the Lamborghini Jalpa, among others. The 328 was in production between 1985 and 1989 and was delivered in two versions: the closed GTB and the GTS as a targa.

So, a true Ferrari, faithful to the concept of the 'smaller' mid-engine models from Maranello. It is *the* car you have parked on your driveway next to a Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit and, well, why not: a 911 Turbo. The 328 GTS unmistakably evokes that touch of 'Dynasty'.
